Fishing in Fisch has two separate moments: the quiet wait after the cast and the active catch-bar fight after a fish bites. New players usually lose fish because they react to the wrong moment, hold one direction too long, or try to make the bar perfectly still. The useful goal is simpler: keep enough overlap on the fish marker for the progress meter to finish.
How the Catch Bar Works
Once a fish bites, the minigame shows the fish marker, your controllable bar, and a progress meter. Progress builds while the fish sits inside your bar and falls when it escapes. The bar has momentum, so a long press can carry it past the fish even after you release.
Use short corrections. Press to move toward the fish, release before the bar overshoots, and correct again after the fish changes direction. A difficult fish may still escape a few times; you do not need perfect overlap for the entire fight.
Cast and Wait for the Bite
Equip your rod and hold the fishing input to prepare a cast. Release when the cast is aimed where you want it. After the float lands, wait for the bite instead of repeatedly casting again. Lure speed, bait, and the target fish can change the wait, but they do not change the basic sequence.
When the bite begins, shift your attention from the water to the minigame. The first correction matters because an early overreaction can put the bar on the wrong side of the fish.
Control the Bar Without Over-correcting
Think in taps and releases rather than one long hold. If the fish moves far, use a longer correction, then return to small inputs as the bar catches up. If the fish reverses, do not chase instantly with another full press; let the bar slow first.
Players using a controller or touch device should apply the same idea even when the exact input differs. Watch the bar's movement rather than memorizing one timing from another platform.

- Move the catch bar toward the fish with short inputs.
