The Short Answer

Bring 100,000 C$ for King's Rod and another 400 C$ if you still need a normal elevator ride. Enter the Sovereignty Mines under the Statue of Sovereignty, ride down to Keeper's Altar, turn left after exiting, and follow the ledge to the skeleton beside the rod.
Budget for the Whole Trip

The rod itself is listed at 100,000 C$. Players without permanent elevator access should keep the 400 C$ trip fee separate so arriving with exactly the purchase price does not strand the route. Permanent elevator access changes the travel cost, not the rod price.
Find the Pedestal

- Go to the Statue of Sovereignty and enter the mine area.
- Speak with Cole and use the elevator to reach Keeper's Altar.
- After leaving the elevator, turn left and continue toward the small ledge.
- Look for the skeleton; King's Rod is beside it.
- Confirm the live price and complete the purchase.
Why King's Rod Is Different
The main reasons to buy King's Rod are unlimited maximum weight, stable control and resilience, and the passive that increases fish size. That package helps with large catches. It is not presented here as the fastest lure or the universal best rod; it solves the narrower job of a sturdy early-to-midgame large-fish tool.
Common Wrong Turns
Do not confuse King's Rod with Rod of the Eternal King; they are different items and unlock paths. If you reach Keeper's Altar only at night for enchanting, remember that the King's Rod purchase route itself is a location problem, while enchanting is covered separately in the Enchant Relic guide.
