The Current Route in One Minute
Reach level 250, speak with Dead Man Joe, recover Oscar's Amulet from Grand Reef, and return to advance the quest. Then equip the amulet and take the underwater route to Oscar's Locker. As of August 25, 2026, the community Wiki lists the rod at 2,500,000 C$; older videos may still show the pre-drift Sea 2 route and a 5,000,000 C$ price.
Finish Dead Man Joe's Amulet Quest
- Talk to Dead Man Joe at the currently documented Forsaken Shores quest location.
- Travel to Grand Reef and collect the amulet from the ruined central-island area.
- Return to Dead Man Joe with the amulet so the locker step is active.
- Keep the amulet available; the barrier checks the equipped item, not merely ownership.
Reach Oscar's Locker
Use diving equipment or a submarine for the underwater tunnel. Follow the route until the green barrier, equip Oscar's Amulet, and pass through to the locker. If a guide sends you back through the old Sea 2 sequence, it may predate the Continental Drift move. Use current landmarks and quest state rather than forcing old coordinates.
Check the Price Before You Commit
The current Wiki snapshot lists level 250 and 2,500,000 C$, but a recently refreshed secondary article still displays the older 5,000,000 route. That conflict is exactly why the page carries a date. Verify the pedestal price in your live server before doing a final money grind; the route is useful even when a balance patch changes only the number.
Why Players Target Oscar
Great Rod of Oscar is an XP target, not simply a prestige purchase. Its lure speed, luck, progress-speed bonus, and 1.35x XP multiplier support faster leveling. Lower control and resilience mean the upgrade still expects clean catches. Compare it with Heaven's and later targets in the next-rod guide if XP is not your only goal.
